A series of rhythmical paintings responding to music arrangements inspired by singing and dance practices in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Repetitive movements and intuitive composition is a base of Ina Leah’s therapeutic art practice, in hope that art can be inclusive and accessible for the public as tools of healing. As emotion comes and goes, it becomes a cycle, aligned with the philosophy of the woven fabric tubular shape and circular dance practices in Lamaholot culture that signifies the cycle of life–that is ought to be celebrated on each of its stages. Drawing inspiration from different mediums embedded seamlessly in her heritage in participatory Lamaholot art practices, as well as her lived experience of being a neurodivergent artist, Ina Leah transforms music, movements, painting, and performance as a way to make peace with the cycle of feelings, cycle of life.
